Justin Bieber is clearing up some misconceptions following reports that he is training to become a Hillsong Church minister.
Fans began speculating about the ‘Sorry’ hitmakers involvement with the Church after OK! Magazine first published a story which was later covered by Page Six. In the article, an anonymous source quoted as saying “Bieber doesn’t plan to give up his music career, but he feels there’s a bigger calling out there for him. He wants to be a full-fledged minister next year,” per NME.
On Monday (January 4), the Canadian singer, 26, took to his Instagram stories where he offered his clarification on the matter along with a screenshot of Page Six’s article.
“IM NOT STUDYING TO BE A MINISTER OR ANYTHING EVEN CLOSE TO THAT. HAVE NO DESIRE FOR THAT,” Justin Bieber wrote.
“And BTW Hillsong is not my Church..For Clarity I am a part of Churchhome,” he further wrote in another story.
In a third Instagram story, he explained: “Church is not a place. We are the church. We don’t need a building to connect with God. God is with us wherever we are.”
The singer then turned to his Instagram feeds, where he shared a religious quote which read, “THE CREATOR OF THE OCEANS AND MOUNTAINS ALSO CREATED YOU! YOU ARE A PART OF THE PLAN, YOUR LIFE MATTERS, HE SEES YOU! HES BEEN PATIENT WITH YOU AS YOU RAN FROM HIM AWAITING YOUR RETURN! HES NOT MAD, HE UNDERSTANDS.”
“YOU CAN NEVER RUN TOO FAR AWAY FROM GODS LOVE. HES BEEN THERE THE WHOLE TIME,” he captioned the post.
Justin Bieber’s statement comes a month after the controversial exit of pastor Carl Lentz in November, reports Aceshowbiz.
