Miley Cyrus has taken her fans by surprise with her performance of Pink Floyd’s 1975 classic ‘Wish You Were Here’ on ‘Saturday Night Live’s’ second ‘at-home’ episode amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The songstress delivered the performance from beside a campfire bathed in dramatic red light at her home, as the lockdown restrictions remain imposed in wake of the ongoing crisis.
She was accompanied by guitarist and songwriter Andrew Watt, who recently recovered from the coronavirus disease and shared his horrifying experience on social media.
Watt, 29, said he felt like he was “hit by a bus” and developed pneumonia. He also revealed that he was denied a test for coronavirus earlier, until he was ultimately diagnosed positive.
‘Wish You Were Here’ is a mega-hit song by Pink Floyd from the 1975 album of the same name.
While the original song is a tribute to Pink Floyd frontman Syd Barrett, Miley’s latest performance has given the song a new meaning, in times of ongoing global crisis.
