‘Rain on Me’ is the second single from Lady Gaga’s sixth studio album, ‘Chromatica,’ which was released a week before.
‘Rain on me’ is currently holding No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100, making chart history in several ways.
According to Billboard, fans have been supporting the song ever since it released on May 22 and made history in multiple ways.
This is the first time ever a song by multiple female solo artists has been replaced at the top spot by another song by multiple female solo artists.
“Rain on Me” has reportedly replaced ‘Savage’ remix by rapper Megan Thee Stallion and Beyoncé at the no.1 position.
As per reports, there have been only seven chart-toppers by multiple female solo artists in the entire history of Billboard Hot 100.
The new song makes Grande the first artist to record four songs that debuted in the top spot.
Ariana recently bagged top spot with her recent collaboration ‘Stuck With U’ with Justin Bieber on May 23.
Meanwhile, this is Lady Gaga’s fifth chart-topper so far, and her second No. 1 debut song.
The song also gave Gaga a record span of number one debuts, going nine years, three months and one week eversince ‘Born This Way’ topped the chart in 2011.
According to reports, Lady Gaga is now the third artist to have reached No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 in the 2000s, 2010s and 2020s, following Mariah Carey and Beyonce.
