Rebel Wilson just got candid about a terrifying experience she had while on a holiday in Mozambique, Africa.
The 40-year-old actress, best known for films like ‘Bridesmaids’ and ‘Pitch Perfect,’ revealed she was once kidnapped at gunpoint and held overnight while staying in Africa, per METRO.
The Australian starlet made the shocking revelation during a chat with Ant Middleton on the latest episode of his Sky One series ‘Straight Talking.’
She also posted a photo of herself posing with Middleton on her Instagram.
“This is what I look like 3 days into the Mexican wilderness with @antmiddleton catch STRAIGHT TALKING on @skytv Thursday 14th at 9pm UK time,” she captioned the post.
When asked about the dreadful ordeal, Rebel Wilson said: “There was one time in Africa where I got kidnapped.”
“It was in rural Mozambique.”
She further revealed that the incident happened when she was traveling with a group of women in rural parts of the country when armed men stopped them and ordered them to get off their vehicle.
“We were on this cattle truck and these men came on another truck with a lot of guns,” she explained. “[They pulled up] with the big guns and were like, ‘Yeah, you’ve got to get off your truck.'”
Rebel Wilson further recalled that they were taken to an isolated house “in the middle of nowhere” and was held there until the next morning.
“I felt like I was very good in the crisis. I was like a team leader. They sat us down, and I said, ‘Everybody link arms,'” she told Middleton. “I’m petrified in the night they might want to take one of the girls or something.”
Fortunately the next day the men returned and told them they could leave.
“Luckily, we weren’t harmed and then the next day they came and said, ‘Your truck is ready now. You can go go go.'”
She continued saying, “So we just didn’t ask any questions, we got back on that truck and just got back out of there and then crossed the South African border a few hours later.”
Though she never found out why they were being kidnapped in the first place, Rebel Wilson thinks that those men hid drugs into their truck.
“I think maybe those guys used us to smuggle illegal things in the bottom of the truck,” she noted.
Seemingly surprised by her story, Ant said, “I was expecting you to say, ‘Yeah I came face to face with a snake or a spider,’ and then you tell me you got kidnapped at gunpoint.”
“You need to do a hardcore action movie,” he joked.
