After portraying a femme fatale in the AVENGERS series, Scarlett Johansson is revved up to be a part of Taika Waitit’s next World War 2 film JOJO RABBIT according to Variety.
Taika Waitit, who recently made THOR: RAGNAROK which brought a much needed change to the franchise and also gave a different outlook to the superhero movies we have seen before it, the change brought about a much needed boost of comedy and personality to the ever serious character of Thor which made him seem bland and monotonous.
Scarlett, who made a name for herself in the AVENGERS franchise as Black Widow, has chosen to play as a different character after choosing a variety of action roles in the MCU and GHOST IN THE SHELL AND LUCY.
She will be playing the character of a German mother during World War 2 who hides a Jewish girl and is found out by a German boy.
The casting is yet to be finished, with Taika Waititi currently finishing up the pilot for WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS.
Taika Waiti also wrote the script for the film and will produce alongside Carthew Neal and Chelsea Winstanley, the production of the film is scheduled to begin later this year.
