A few months back, Warner Bros and DC Extended Universe announced about their R-rated girl gang movie titled BIRDS OF PREY led by Margot Robbie reprising her role as Harley Quinn from SUICIDE SQUAD. Reportedly, by the late Monday evening, the makers finally revealed the final date for the film, which is February 7th, 2020. Though, we have to wait a year and a half long to witness the first of its kind girl gang DC film.
There has been also rumors about untitled Harley Quinn and Joker film, but nothing has been finalized about that. In the meantime BIRDS OF PREY has finally received a release date, which is an exciting news for all the DCEU fans. The film is being directed by Cathy Yan, the movie goes on floors later next year. There are also several actresses joining Margot in the film and fill the role of Huntress, Black Canary, Renee Montoya and Batgirl. Some of the actresses include Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Justina Machado.
While many details are being kept under wraps, BIRDS OF PREY will center on a gang of female DC characters who team up to take down a common enemy.
Until the film releases we'll have Jason Momoa's AQUAMAN releasing this year in December, Gal Gadot's WONDER WOMAN 1984 which releases in November next year, and Todd Phillips untitled Joker origin movie, starring Joaquin Phoenix in the lead role. For now, BIRDS OF PREY is the only DC movie officially slated for 2020 release.
