The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air cast is back together!
Will Smith reunited with the show’s co-stars on Thursday for an HBO Max special celebrating the TV show’s 30th anniversary.
On Thursday, the 30th anniversary of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’s premiere, Will Smith shared the first look photos from the sitcom’s upcoming reunion which just began filming.
The actor shared two photos from the 30th-anniversary special, which was shot this week on the show’s original set.
“Today is exactly 30 YEARS since The @FreshPrince of Bel-Air debuted!” Will Smith, 51, wrote on his Instagram.
“So we’re doin’ something for y’all… a for real Banks Family Reunion is comin’ soon to @HBOmax!”
One picture features Smith smiling with the cast members Daphne Maxwell Reid, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Joseph Marcelli, Karyn Parsons, Alfonso Ribiero, and Tatyana Ali. The second photo, however, was a pleasant surprise for people.
In the second photo, Will Smith is seen having an “emotional reunion and a candid conversation,” with original Aunt Viv, Janet Hubert for the first time in 27 years.
Hubert, who previously criticized both The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Will Smith, featured in the sitcom for three seasons, before she was fired and replaced by Reid.
The actor also paid tribute to actor James Avery who passed away at the age of 68 in 2013 and portrayed Uncle Phil.
“RIP James,” he wrote. “#FreshPrince30th.”
The upcoming reunion, which will air on HBO Max, will be a “funny and heartfelt night” full of music, dancing, and more special surprise guests,” reports ETONline.
According to reports, all the 148-episodes of Fresh Prince are available to stream on HBO Max.
