Indian Film Awards (IIFA) heading for Singapore?

Looks like the International Indian Film Awards (IIFA) are heading for Singapore next year.

Though not announced officially by Wizcraft, the organisers of the event, sources indicate as much.

Wizcraft has been hunting for a country to host their awards ceremony for a very long time. They even tried places like Los Angeles and California but failed, as getting visas would have caused major problems.

Next on the cards was Dubai, but then the next Zee Cine Awards will take place there on February 26. This is also the first time the Zee Cine Awards will take place outside India.

But Wizcraft is not complaining. It seems they have got a very good deal from the Singapore Tourism Board. IIFA may take place now in Singapore in May 2004.

Sabas Joseph of Wizraft told IANS: "We have not yet decided the final venue. By January 15, we should be able to announce the venue and the country. We have currently three countries on our list - Singapore and Dubai are among them."
