Now here is a Indian film festival organized by Europeans

Indian film festivals have become a very routine thing across the world. But, most of these festivals are either organized by the Indian Consulates there or by some desi body. The 3rd edition of the River to River Florence Film Festival, is perhaps the only festival in Europe totally devoted to films from or about India, will take place in Florence, Italy, from 10 to 14 December 2003.
In the Cinema Hall will be screened features, shorts and animation films. "A 10-episode series L'India vista da Roberto Rossellini, shot by great Italian Maestro during his late 50s' trip to India. The Video Hall will host also this year the TFSA (Travelling Film South Asia) of the 2003 edition of Film South Asia festival of Kathmandu, showcasing the most interesting documentaries from all over the South of Asia: India, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh," says Andrea Toscani of the festival.
The guests of this year's festival are Uma da Cunha, the Cannes 2002 shorts-award-winner young director Manish Jha - presenting his first feature Matrubhoomi-A Nation Without Women. A big hit among the guests of the festival will be Om Puri, leading role in East is East and one of the most renowned actors of Hindi and crossover cinema.
