Urmila Matondkar is back to wow the audiences again after her critically acclaimed performances in 'Bhoot' and 'Pinjar' this year. With 'Ek Hasina Thi' the hat trick will be complete. In a role that requires subtlety and strength Urmila excels as the simple girl who gets transformed into a tough and hardened girl after a stint in jail through no fault of her own.
Speaking about her role in 'Ek Hasina Thi' Urmila says, " Ek Haseena Thi is a realistic, modern-day thriller. It is about this middle-class girl from Pune who comes to Mumbai. Life is good until something out of the blue happens without her knowledge."
Urmila who is passionate about her roles makes it a point to get into the character so totally that it is difficult to say where does the role begin and where her own personality end. She expresses it through her make up (or no make up look), voice, expressions, and her body language. With oodles of talent, great looks and a mind boggling sexuality Urmila is surely a treat to watch.
In 'Ek Hasina Thi' she takes the viewer through feelings of affection as the simple girl and then of sympathy as the victim in jail and then gets them to give her raving support as hardened action girl. And when she adds, "I have given it my best" the viewers know that the role and the film will not be something to joke about!
In an understated but power packed performance Urmila is cast opposite the debonair Saif Ali Khan (who has changed his look for the film) in this love story from Ram Gopal Varma's stable.
