The Bollywood star is currently here on a performing tour, and has hinted that she might consider moving to Britain.
"It is something I may consider in the future, depending on which direction my career takes me," Rai told the local media.
"I have an open mind about these things. I feel I can adapt quite readily to working and living abroad as I have recently been spending more and more time overseas attending award ceremonies," she added.
Among the notable filmstars to migrate to Britain are Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow.
Rai said her fan base in Britain was "the best thing" about the country. She recently completed shooting for Gurinder Chaddha's "Bride and Prejudice".
On reports that she was being considered for a role in the next James Bond film, Rai said: "I would be truly flattered if such a role was offered to me. I have been approached for several international projects but I am not at liberty to speculate unless the film is a confirmed project."
Rai has two agents in the US who negotiate her international projects, including television and advertising.
Speaking to Eastern Eye, a leading British Asian weekly, she said she had full faith in love and romance.
"Have I found true love? That's something I like to keep private. My love life is pretty much typical of a girl of my generation.
"But I believe in love -- it's something which everybody should experience," Rai said.
