Remember the team of Anees Ranjan and Ajay Tulli of Talking Pictures, who had last produced DIL PE MAT LE YAAR and had subsequently, started a Hindi-Tamil bilingual with Mamooty, Raveena Tandon and Rinki Khanna. There wasn't much news on the film ever since which led industry insiders to believe the obvious, that they had dropped the idea of going ahead with the film. But Ranjan now informs that the psychological thriller titled EK DIN ANJAANE MEIN is complete and due to release soon. "It got slightly delayed since we were preoccupied with the production of some other films," Ranjan reveals. EK DIN... has Mammooty essaying the central character of a lawyer who becomes a judge and has to make a very consequential judgment.
Talking Pictures has another film lined up for release in January called DANSH, once again a thriller, which marks the directorial debut of Hansal Mehta's ex-assistant, Kanika Verma. The film stars K.K. Menon (of CHHAL and DEEWAR fame) and Sonali Kulkarni. In addition, Talking Pictures has also signed famous Assamese director and national award winner, Jahnu Barua, to direct a film, which is scheduled to start in January. "The market is very hot for medium budget thrillers planned and executed in a short period of time and we are merely tapping the market potential," says Ranjan.
