President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam's message on depicting reality in films has inspired a young entrepreneur in his quest for meaningful cinema.
When Naeem Siddiqui decided to plunge into the field of filmmaking, he wanted to make a film depicting a message -- but not the run of the mill kind.
And then the inspiration came in the form of Kalam's speech at the 50th National Film Awards function that films should depict reality and spread the message to the common man.
When his friend Kumar A. Dave (who was associate director and screenplay writer of "Lagaan") narrated a story, Siddiqui realised that with this film, he can spread a message through cinema.
Dave says this is not just another love story but a statement and promises a thought-provoking film with sensibility, logic and entertainment and a film with substance.
"Prarambh - The Beginning" is the story of Bholu, enacted by Vijay Raaz, and Chamki, depicted by Gauri Karnik. The story is a sensitive, humorous tale of Bholu's reform. All Bholu was supposed to do was to take a single step to make a beginning. And it all began when Chamki came into his life.
