The legendary Amitabh Bachchan is mobbed by fans and the media at every other event. But what is surprising is the desperation of TV channels.

Mediapersons these days get to meet Bachchan at some function or the other every week. But this week at the Damas Solitaire launch in Mumbai, the TV channels went hysterical to get sound bytes from him.

As soon as the event was over, the media mobbed Bachchan and actress Lara Dutta. The event was preceded by a fashion show choreographed and designed by ace Bollywood designer Vikram Phadnis.

It became difficult for the crowd to move out of the hall while photographers and TV channel crews rushed towards Bachchan, popularly known as Big B. They trailed the megastar to his car and some reporters were heard pleading, "Sir, we will lose our jobs if you don't speak to us. They will throw us out."

Big B finally gave a few sound bytes from his car and then the car started moving while reporters were still standing in front of his car.
