A court here Wednesday rejected the bail application of film director Kaizad Gustad, who is facing charges of culpable homicide over his British deputy's death in a train accident.
The sessions court also refused bail to Ashish Udeshi and Hardley D'Mello, who were part the crew that was shooting the movie "Mumbai Central" at a railway station here when a train hit 27-year-old Pakistan-born British national Nadia Khan May 25.
Judge S.U. Saudankar rejected the pleas on the ground that "the investigations were incomplete and their release at this juncture would hamper the probe".
Upholding the prosecution's contention, he said: "The accused had earlier misled the police by stating that Nadia Khan was killed in a road mishap and not in a train accident. Hence, there was a possibility of the accused tampering with evidence if they were released."
