Dr B R Chopra Felicitated as 'Locations 2004'

World Locations available under one roof in Bollywood

Tourism Minister Renuka Chowdhary, the Chief Guest Of Honour Kiran Shantaram cut the ribbon Ambassador Of Ireland present B.R. Chopra to be felicitated

The second edition of the World's First Film Tourism event was held in Mumbai on the 24th and 25th of June' 2004 at Hotel J.W. Marriott. Titled as 'Locations 2004', it brings together the Film and Tourism industries once again to explore the mutual benefits of filming in varied locations across the world. 10 countries participated at Locations to benefit from their interactions with the Indian Industry.

Kiran Shantaram inaugurated the event 'Locations 2004' by cutting the ribbon of the venue that showcased the locations of 10 foreign countries. The Honourable Tourism Minister Government of India, Ms. Renuka Chowdhary was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The event was held from 10.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m.

The event is a feature an exhibition of 10 countries displaying their Locations and a powerful conference featuring top speakers and personalities from the Film and Tourism Industries. The delegations from the different countries will also make presentations the invites and conference attendees. Even the queries pertaining to visa facilitation, costs & time, infrastructure, provision from hospitality to travels to equipment, labour laws - daily wages, working hours, technicians and also co-productions.

The advisory board members at the locations are Manmohan Shetty, Kiran Shantaram, Vinay Nevalkar, Dr. P.V. Gangadharan, Ashutosh Gowarikar, Anil Nagrath, Supran Sen and Kuldip Verma and has ITDC (Indian Tourism Development Corporation), AMPTPP (Association of Motion Pictures & TV Programme Producers), India Television Co. (The largest web site for Indian television), Screen World (Annual Indian film directory) and Cornerstone Productions (We give you the world in India) as the location partners.

Locations 2004, keeping in tradition of its events will be felicitating the Legend of Indian Cinema - Dr. B.R. Chopra, for his outstanding contribution and involvement in the film industry for 50 years on the evening of June 25 at Hotel J.W. Marriott. On the same day, a dinner was hosted by The Embassy of Ireland with Tourism Ireland and in presence of His Excellency Mr. Philip McDonagh, The Ambassador of Ireland. Rajoo Kariya is the media director for Locations 2004.
