As is known A. R. Rahman's 'Jai Ho' not only fetched an Oscar for the maestro but also the first mainstream Oscar for India. It is still dominating the charts as well as the hearts, globally. In fact an entire album titled 'Jai Ho' has just hit the stores!

However, the track also managed its share of controversy as it was used as an election campaign tune. So what does Rahman feel about it? We were lucky enough to catch the man himself (as promised!) When we put up the question to him Rahman smiled. He said ''Since the concerned people have succeeded in their objective, I hope that the promise of improving the life of the poor and downtrodden becomes a reality. And if the life of the slum dwellers improves, it will be a real 'Jai Ho' as per me. Politics has been such that people have been divided on the basis of caste, community and religion. But now it is time for our leaders to sew them all in one thread and aim for a unified India.''

Well, we are impressed at the profound thoughts and pearls of wisdom from the music wizard!
