Rakeysh Mehra is charting a different territory these days. Unlike the sheer opulence of his last films, his new projects trace a humble profile.

His forthcoming production will be a low budget film that will be directed by a newcomer. Rakeysh Mehra feels that it is time for fresh talent to be cultivated and nurtured. His next production TEEN THAY BHAI is his first attempt in that direction.

Rakeysh Mehra confesses that his last venture DILLI 6 has been a great learning experience. Perhaps that was one the reasons that the filmmaker felt the need to shed opulence and extravagance and give way to small impactful stories that become commercially viable too.

Talking about his transition from big to small budgets, Mehra says, 'I have always believed that it is the story that is more important than the budgets. The budgets can fail you but never the story. My next release TEEN THAY BHAI is an interesting tale that will have the likes of Om Puri and Shreyas Talpade in the lead. We will release the film around the world cup.'

Mehra is also working on his next directorial venture which is a biopic. The film traces the story of the great athlete Milkha Singh. Currently Rakeysh Mehra is busy giving the script its final shape.
