As expected, LAI BHAARI has broken all records of Marathi cinema. By collecting well in excess of 30 crore, it has gone past the record created by huge Marathi grossers like DUNIYADAARI and TIMEPASS. In fact what made his record even special was the fact that the respective directors of both aforementioned films were the first to announce the fact that LAI BHAARI had surpassed their collections.

While for Riteish this is a special moment indeed, it is also a huge achievement for director Nishikant Kamat, who has now managed to score well commercially as well in a major way. No wonder, Riteish isn't crediting just his presence in the film for turning out to be such a huge hit.

''I sincerely believe that films are not about individual glory, they are about collective victory,'' says Riteish, ''My point is that when everyone gives his best individually, it only helps the film as a whole. Also, a lot of credit needs to go to the viewers who are selecting what they want to see and then are giving whole hearted support to it if they like what they see.''

CHECK OUT: Is Shreyas Talpade inspired by Riteish Deshmukh?

He is pretty much right, what with his EK VILLAIN turning out to be a 100 crore affair as well. Moreover, he is also widely acknowledged as the best part of HUMSHAKALS. Undoubtedly, there are huge expectations from what he picks on next. So isn't he petrified of the expectations now?

''Well, expectations have always been there. It is about carrying certain judgment of what you want to do and what not. I have taken a conscious call in picking up my genres and films. That would stay on,'' promises Riteish before signing off.
