The Badshah of Bollywood made this confident assertion in reply to a question during the press conference to unveil the first look and trailer of his upcoming film HAPPY NEW YEAR. Organized at the newly constructed banquet & conference section of a five star hotel in Mumbai’s eastern suburb, it was probably the grandest and the most impressive trailer launch event of Bollywood. It also provided a glimpse into the upcoming ‘Indiawaale’ world tour of Shahrukh Khan with his band of star performers and ramp walkers. The tour will coincide with the film’s global release this Diwali.

Shahrukh Khan said that irrespective of the fact that he was its producer, when he looked at it objectively, he felt that HAPPY NEW YEAR would stand out among all other heist films in the world. His sentiments were endorsed by his co-star Abhishek Bachchan, who has been part of DHOOM series, Yash Raj Films’ most successful heist film franchise, the last installment of which did extremely well internationally ($28 Million) leaving behind films like 3 IDIOTS ($26 Million) and MY NAME IS KHAN ($23 Million).
Incidentally, HAPPY NEW YEAR is being distributed globally by YRF. As far as overseas territories are concerned, nothing can beat the formidable SRK-YRF combo that has a record of having raked in more dollars than any other Bollywood alliance in the history of Indian cinema.

King Khan went on to add that his film is not just another heist film. It is amazingly unique as it combines two diametrically opposite genres, heist and dance. According to him the film may not do as well as Hollywood heist films in terms of business but in terms of its production design, and scale and quality it will make every Indian around the world extremely proud of being a Bollywood film audience. It’s made with that kind of an idea, vision, thought and belief because the film had a director like Farah Khan.

Abhishek Bachchan added that Shahrukh mentioned this to him once that he wanted to make HAPPY NEW YEAR into India’s biggest film ever and that’s what it has turned out to be. Shahrukh as the film's producer has spared no efforts to achieve that objective. It’s quintessentially a Bollywood masala film that Manmohan Desai would have been proud of according to Jr. Bachchan.
