Arjun Kapoor is gearing up for GUNDAY, his third film with YRF, which will grace screens this Friday. While in the first two outings ISHAQZAADE and AURANGZEB, Arjun appeared in lower-energy avatars, it is with GUNDAY, that the Kapoor lad has changed gears and come out of his shell, displaying dynamism, not seen until now.

However, Arjun has his reasons of not being in peak form, during his first two films. He opens up stating, ''When I started out with my first film I didn't realize what I am doing or where I am heading. I lost somebody (mother Mona Kapoor) who have I worked hard for my entire life. So, I can't quantify that success and loss. I was completely blank and didn't bother of whatever was happening around me. I was so lonely. But now with GUNDAY, I am all new.''

Though Arjun admits to being a reserved person, he denies that he has stepped out of his comfort zone for GUNDAY.

''Yes, I am a reserved person and most people don't understand that. When I like somebody, I'll give up my life for them. Thanks to GUNDAY, it has let me open up and be media-friendly,'' says Arjun and adds in the same gasp, ''There is an unfortunate perception that is being drawn that I am pretty docile. I am not docile. On the contrary on the sets, I can be as energetic because nobody judges you there. All my energy oozes out on the film sets.''

And Arjun is grateful to Ranveer because of whom he could come out of his closet. ''Yes, being with Ranveer my energy levels are also going up. All thanks to him. Ranveer's energy is very infectious. His vigour on the sets is to be seen!'' says Arjun Kapoor.

While people deem Ranveer to be an attention-seeker, Arjun, who shares a great bond with his GUNDAY co-star, speaks on his behalf.

''Initially, people perceived Ranveer to be an attention-seeker, but he is not. In fact, people now have started enjoying whatever he does and have finally accepted him the way he is. I think it's correlative to the fact that he has given successful films. I too like having fun and am really glad that here is a guy who unabashedly has fun and he doesn't care for what he is. Since he is like that, it makes it easier for me to get away from doing nonsensical things with the reason that Ranveer karraha hai toh mai bhi kar sakta hun. Mai Ranveer ke rang mai rang gaya tha. I have taken undue advantage of him...,'' winks Arjun.

Further talking about GUNDAY, Arjun says, ''GUNDAY is a very energetic and enthusiastic film. It is a high-voltage drama. For e.g., in LOOTERA you can't use that energy, in AURANGZEB you have to curtail it, as it's a very restrictive, niche film. So, in GUNDAY we needed that liveliness.''

Also starring Priyanka Chopra, GUNDAY is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by Aditya Chopra under the famed YRF banner.
