Whenever Aditya Chopra directed a film, it was his favourite Shahrukh Khan who featured in it. It was Aditya Chopra's directorial debut DDLJ (DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAYENGE) which catapulted Shahrukh Khan's career to dizzying heights and made him a superstar overnight. Further, his association with Adi is films like MOHABBATEIN and RAB NE BANA DI JODI also proved fruitful. Thus, they made a successful director-actor jodi.

So, now when Adi is set to wield the megaphone again after a gap of seven years, it was well expected that SRK would be his obvious choice. However, to our surprise, the reticent filmmaker, as the buzz in trade suggest, has plans to sign the current heartthrob of Bollywood, Ranveer Singh. Yes, Adi might rope in Ranveer instead of Shahrukh Khan for his next venture.

CHECK OUT: Aditya Chopra wanted GUNDAY to be a biggie

Adi's preference for Ranveer Singh doesn't come as a shock since Ranveer was his find. And Adi quite liked him during his debut film BAND BAAJA BAARAAT. He even went on to predict Ranveer to be the next big thing in Bollywood. Moreover, the lively actor has created a mark with his films like GOLIYON KI RAASLEELA RAM-LEELA, LOOTERA and gearing up for yet another YRF flick GUNDAY.

If Adi casts Ranveer Singh for his next then get ready for a blockbuster. And Ranveer could well gear up for his superstardom status!
