While Bollywood actor Jimmy Shergill has mostly been part of starry films, it is probably for the first time we see the actor working with a gang of newcomers -Mohit Marwah, Vijender Singh, Arfi Lamba and Kiara Adavni.

Being the senior actor around, ask Jimmy about his experience sharing screen space with relatively fresh, raw bunch of talent and he says, ''All of them worked very hard and one can witness that in the film. All of them have been around here in their own space. They have even assisted in the film. So they know the game well and calling them raw would not be right. Further, we had sessions on reading out the scripts, going through the scenes and rehearsals. Having said that, Kabir wanted little bit of raw feel for the film, though visually it's going to be very nice. So, it was amazing working with them.''

Ask him if he acted as a mentor or a guide to them wherever needed and Jimmy says, ''Who am I to do that? It's a director's job. He is the person who has to deal with the actors, rehearse with them, etc. The director is the person who knows exactly how he has designed each person's character in the film and what he wants. But when being together in a scene, I could only probably give in my suggestions.''

The newbies well reminded Jimmy of his MOHABBATEIN days.

''Whenever I saw these newcomers or heeded to their conversation or witnessed their anxiety of doing better, I recollected MOHABBATEIN days. I got nostalgic. The same kind of feeling came to me when I was doing MOHABBATEIN. Just like these newbies, I remember how all of us - Uday, Jugal, Shamita, Preeti, Kim and myself used to hang out together. So, it was great fun shooting for this film. In fact after a very long time I had a very nice shoot. It doesn't happen with every film. Very few films give you those positive vibes. FUGLY was one such film and it is going to be a refreshing outing.''

Directed by Kabir Sadanand, jointly produced by Ashvini Yardi and Akshay Kumar, FUGLY is all set to release on June 13, 2014.
