One of the biggest ventures of 2016, YRF's Aditya Chopra directed Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor starrer, BEFIKRE, which started with 10.50 crore on the opening day, followed it up with 11.50 crore on the second and capped it off with another 13 crore on the third day, thus netting 35 crore (to be validated), during the opening weekend from India, thanks mainly to the multiplexes. What must also be kept in mind is that BEFIKRE is a multiplex heavy film (just like DEAR ZINDAGI), and released at about 2100 screens (multiplexes plus single screens).

Coming from the director of all time blockbuster and super-hits like DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAYENGE, MOHABBATEIN and RAB NE BANA DI JODI, the film could not quite match up to the predecessors but still 35 crore is quite a good haul, given that BEFIKRE has a total investment of 70 crore, and a major portion of that has already been recovered via non-theatrical rights. Having said that, the final box-office outcome of the film will depend on its theatrical run.

BEFIKRE is fair (given the YRF, Aditya and Ranveer combo) in the overseas, grossing $1.90m with £145,000 from UK and $500,000 from the US, during the opening weekend.
