After declaring the ownership of her body and her rules (My Body. My House. My Country. My Rules) Begum Jaan is certainly going to kill you with her brutal honesty. Set against the backdrop of 1947 partition of India-Pakistan, BEGUM JAAN is inspired by true events where it takes us through the painstaking journey of whores who fought like queen to save their brothel, their home.

Vidya Balan is totally slaying in and as BEGUM JAAN. Post DIRTY PICTURE this film has all the potential of becoming a talking point of her career, post marriage. We noted some really interesting points about the films' trailer which we would like to share with you.

6 arresting things about BEGUM JAAN you shouldn't miss

• The opening sequence of the trailer reminds you of the film LAGAAN with a coin spinning and Amitabh Bachchan's trademark baritone in the background narrating the story.

Vidya Balan is back
When was the last time you saw this fierce actress mouthing some really hard hitting dialogues which made you uncomfortable to an extent but you enjoyed it nevertheless. The actress' body language, her devil-may-care attitude, the nuance of her character which she has portrayed brilliantly will blow your mind.

Hard hitting (double meaning dialogues)
“Baap Bhai, Beta, Shohar begum jaan ki chaukhat ke uss paar has mard murga hota hai teen taangon wala murga”

“Aap jisse zabaan se kotha aur dimaag me randi khana soch rahe hai na, yeh mera ghar hai, mera watan aur isse pehle ki koi hamein yahan se hataye hum uske haath pair aur jism ka who kya kehte hain partition kar denge”

“Mahina hamein ginna aata hai sahab, har baar saala laal karke jata hai.”

These hard-hitting dialogues are the plus point of this film as they convey the soul of the film. Last time we saw Vidya mouthing some double meaning dialogues was in DIRTY PICTURE.

Vidya Balan - Naseeruddin Shah
Whenever they have teamed up they have always created magic on big screen be it in ISHQIYA or THE DIRTY PICTURE. This film too has both these terrific actors in it and we are hoping for the same kind of magic to spread this time as well.

Ensemble cast
The ensemble cast of the film has some really terrific actors like Ashish Vidyarthi, Naseeruddin Shah, Rajit Kapoor, Pitobash Tripathy, Ila Arun, Gauhar Khan and Pallavi Sharda among others.

Chunkey Pandey
Amusing as it seems this comic actor is almost unrecognizable in this film. His paan stained teeth and bald avatar makes him stand apart and intriguing.

The trailer of BEGUM JAAN has all the essential elements of becoming the next hitting film of the year with its story line inspired by true events and terrific performance by its ensemble cast. The film directed by Srijit Mukherji will hit the theaters on April 14.
