The 1991 Hollywood thriller RUN starring Patrick Dempsey and Kelly Preston left you short of breath, simply by its sheer audacity of making you feel the protagonist's angst as he goes on the run after accidentally killing the son of a mob boss.

CHAL BHAAG, I guess was trying to replicate that chase. They begin well. The murder of a politician in the middle of the road by men masquerading as traffic policemen is stuff what thrillers are made off. They soon cut to Deepak Dobriyal who plays a goon called Munna Supari with a gripping introductory scene.

After the introduction of these two scenes, which is what the movie is worth watching for, the film, script, acting and dialogues all nose-dive. Even Dobriyal, a fine actor, does not understand what happened to the character he was introduced as in the first place. He ends up playing a joker.

The situations are rather strange and the story shift from a thriller to 'amateur video' is even stranger.

The movie is like a Yusuf Pathan innings; the first few balls are hit over the rope giving the audience huge expectations. By the fifth ball, he has holed out in the deep.

End of story!
