I wonder what happened to Indra Kumar, how did he stoop so low? Aapka DIL Kahan Hai BETA?

Three college students who have a different meaning for A, B and C... not excluding F, form the crux of this plot. What they learnt in school (Apple, Ball and Cat) are replaced with you know what.

They want to have Masti. We are given to understand that they did have a lot of fun in college. But towards the fag end of their college years, a khadoos principal enters who changes the way the college is run. No holding hands, no fooling around with girls; if you are caught, you will be hanged from a tree (with your hands tied, not around the neck) and your boxer shorts pulled down for everyone to have a free dekko.

These boys move on to get married and six years later return to the college for a reunion. The college campus is no more what it used to be. If a girl makes an advance, the boy offers her a rakhi to tie around his wrist. Such is the fright on the campus.

CHECK OUT: Riteish Deshmukh - I am not doing just sex comedies

Rose, Mary and Marlow are the wife, daughter and sister of the principal, in whose house these boys find themselves in, in the absence of their wives who cannot join them.

Indra Kumar's GRAND MASTI is clearly targeted at the front-benchers. Most of the jokes do make you laugh out loud, but their double meanings sometimes embarrass you. To top it, Kumar liberally borrows scenes from SILENT MOVIE (the 1976 comedy) and MR BEAN to increase the laugh quotient. And frankly, these are the only genuine, clean, laugh-worthy moments. Why does one always have to resort to sexual innuendos to make a comedy?

Among the boys, only Riteish Deshmukh looks comfortable doing gibberish. Aftab Shivdasani and Vivek Oberoi force their way into scenes they are not comfortable in.

Sonalee Kulkarni, Manjari Phadnis and Karishma Tanna as their wives go missing in crucial scenes while Bruna Abdullah, Maryam Zakaria and Kainaat Arora are used to up the oomph quotient. Of the lot, Bruna, like Vivek and Aftab, tries very hard.

CHECK OUT: Aftab Shivdasani - Women are more conscious and sensitive than men

There is no link to a plot and the ultimate message after the comedy is too preachy. You either do a comedy, or send across a message. It does not work both ways.
