This one is a con story alright, but the con is on the viewer!

Raja (Emraan Hashmi) and Raghav (Deepak Tijori) live off conning people. We understand that Raghav had taken care of Raja, who was living on the streets as a kid, and the two have been partners ever since. But one big heist, where they rob Rs 80 lakh, lands them in trouble and Raghav is killed.

Raja had insisted on the robbery because he wanted the money to marry the bar girl who he keeps visiting every night. And I believe he blew his share of the booty, Rs 40 lakh that night itself. So how he was going to get married with what money, I fail to understand?

Raja survives and he vows to get even with the man who ordered Raghav's killing. This man is Vardha (Kay Kay Menon) who lives in South Africa. ''Kab aata hai, kab jaata hai, kisi ko malum nahi,'' says the voiceover when they introduce Vardha, a successful businessman who fled India after duping many people. His weakness is cricket and collecting cricket memorabilia.

The joke starts here. Raja takes the help of a seasoned conman living in Dharmashala Yogi (Paresh Rawal), to get even with Vardha and they decide to sell a cricket team to him for Rs 100 crore, a team that does not exist. Vardha falls for the ploy.

Even a businessman having a turnover of just Rs 10 lakh would never have fallen for a ploy like this, because it is so bloody foolish.

Khule aam, Vardha stays in Mumbai and he is made a fool of as the conmen begin their game. Imagine; he comes to India to buy a team at a fake auction!!! Considering he is such a sharp businessman who does not get conned into buying a fake Don Bradman bat because he knows the exact weight of the legend's bat, it is surprising he ventures to buy a team for 100 crores without having an inkling he was being made a fool of.

If I am not wrong, any potential person planning to buy a team would first have all the necessary documents of the team and its composition. Even the middleman or agency, would have a letter of authority from the Association with their phone numbers and email ids, if one needs to verify. But no such luck here. It is clearly written on Vardha's head ''CON ME''. Either that or the viewers are buzzards!!!

Parveez Shaikh is credited with writing this gibberish, while Kunal Deshmukh gets the honours for direction. Hashmi fans have their dose of lip-locks with Pakistani actress Humaima Mallick, who is the more aggressive here, going straight for his lips in a lift, leaving him no time to react.

Of the actors, it is only Deepak Tijori who impressed me. Even Menon, walks with his butt and chest forcefully out, as though trolling before judges in a Miss India swimsuit round.
