CLASSMATE fame Aditya Sarpotdar's THODI THODI SI MANMAANIYAN is a cringingly irritating 1 hour 50 minutes long song about Siddharth (Arsh Sehrawat) who dreams to become a Rockstar but is torn between his dream and mother's (Shilpa Tulasaker) ambition to settle in America. And while he is about to decide, a haunt from the past changes everything.

A perfect example of 'been-there-done-that' mounting cliche, THODI THODI SI MANMAANIYAN has almost nothing new to say.

Now picture this... mamma dear is so full of fear that when her husband and the wannabe Rockstar's father played by Mukesh Tiwari goes missing, (he is actually murdered) as pitaji is a revolutionary writer who does nukkad nataks to exploit the corrupt. Instead of finding out who murdered her husband, this lady disowns the existence of her poor revolutionary husband and plans a safe haven with his son in coming years in abroad and is willing to sell the pushtaini (old family) mansion.

Tension starts when the son discovers an old sandook (trunk) of his father's theater paraphernalia that includes a book on Rani Laxmibai dedicated to his mother and a lost shoe from a mela decades ago.

A girl by the name Neha (Shrenu Parikh) who sings at Mata Rani's satsangsat night and fights against inequality and corruption by day through street plays for her group is aware of Siddharth's father. Siddharth has offered Neha a role of a singer in his rock band. The band is preparing for a big break via a big ticket national competition.

Things go topsy-turvy as the maker goes into an undeclared tipsy and fails to come out from here. The movie becomes something else in the second half and heads nowhere. The terrible acting of the lead Arsh Sherawat irritates further. However Neha played by Shrenu Parikh is decent and Mukesh Tiwari impresses in a cameo.

But that's not enough to sustain this humdrum.
