With the amount of success as well as accolades that small and medium budget films are garnering, the dynamics of movie making is seeing a sea change. And keeping up the trend is Dhanraj Films whose latest venture BIN BULAYE BARAATI is one such effort. And it brings together two of iconoclastic director Ramgopal Varma finds, Aftab Shivdasani and Priyanka Kothari, in a project designed by Prakash Jaju. The music is composed by the versatile but choosy music director Anand Raj Anand and it's only a co-incidence that we run into another music album helmed by composer Anand Raj Anand after DOUBLE DHAMAAL. So, let's press the play on button and join the celebrations with the music of BIN BULAYE BARAATI!

The very first number that begins the festivities is the pulsating dance number, 'Shalu'. Hot and sexy Mallika Sherawat completes a hat trick of item numbers (the very recently released) with 'Razia' (THANK YOU), 'Jalebi Bai' (DOUBLE DHAMAAL) and now 'Shalu'. It can only be called a co-incidence (yet again!) that the last two item numbers have been composed by Anand Raj Anand. Coming to 'Shalu', the highlight is undoubtedly the lyrics by the versatile composer himself, 'Munni bhi maani aur Sheila bhi maani, Shalu ke thumke ki duniya deewani' and what is commendable is that he is not trying to degrade the two super hit item numbers of last year, 'Munni' and 'Shiela' but at the same time his lyrics emphasize the fact that his 'Shalu' is better! Anupama Raag sings well and her USP is that she emotes while singing and manages to catch the attention of the listeners without going over the top with her histrionics. The 'mukhda' is very catchy and the song will definitely find patronage amongst the target audience.

From one item number we run into another 'desi' and naughty dance number, 'Dil Ka Achar' and we are not complaining as the song is quite interesting, the rhythm very infectious, the rustic and 'desi' flavour that has engulfed the fantasy of the nation after the super success of DABANGG, is in full glory in this composition. The lyrics by Anjan Sagri are very cute and no vulgar or double meaning lyrics here, especially the 'mukhda' which goes somewhat like this, 'Khud ko tabaah karogi, Humko maar dalogi, Dil de do, Kya dil ka achar dalogi.' Mamta Sharma and Anand Raj Anand complement each other and certainly serve to entertain with their superb rendition, especially the composer who is simply outstanding.

Aftab Shivdasani acts well. Gulshan Grover is fine, but his character lacks the cruelness required for a villain. Priyanka Kothari needs to seriously work on her acting skills. Johny Lever is far from being funny. In fact, his gay act caricaturist and offensive. Shakti Kapoor overacts. Talented actors like Om Puri, Vijay Raaz, Sanjay Mishra and Rajpal Yadav are wasted. Mallika Sherawat is good in her item number. Shweta Tiwari is nice. Shweta Bharadwaj looks alluring in her item number.

These BIN BULAYE BARAATI are certainly not welcome.
