The horror flick ALONE, that marks the debut of television soap opera heartthrob, Karan Singh Grover (KSG), under the able guidance of director Bhushan Patel, famous for hit 1920-EVIL RETURNS and RAGINI MMS 2, does stir up expectations. The hit trio, Jeet Gannguli, Mithoon and Ankit Tiwari helm the music which is certainly expected to be a musical treat. So let's check out whether the trio continues their super hit work.

Ankit Tiwari's sensual and seductive love song, 'Katra Katra', has been grabbing eyeballs for it's hot, steamy choreography, featuring Bips and KSG. The song on the whole is just about alright as the tune that Ankit chooses is slow drawl with just the arrangements being creditable as also the lyrics by Abhendra. Dictions of both the singers (Ankit and Prakriti Kakar) are bad at times ('Katra' instead of 'Qatra').

Mithoon's offering 'Awaara' boasts of a lively tune and good lyrics by the composer, with some nice arrangements. Altamash Faridi and Saim Bhatt (of MURDER 2 'Dil Samabhal Ja Zara' fame) render the song well.

Jeet Ganguly comes up with a reasonably refreshing love song, 'Chand Aasmano Se Lapata', which has shades of Kishore Da's romantic ditties of the seventies in the 'antara'. The lyrics by Sandeep Nath are classy. Bhaven Dhanak's soft and fresh vocals sound good to the ears.

Talented and versatile musician Raghav Sachar recreates Dr. Zeus's super hit number 'Kangna Tera Ni' and the result is a sensuous, seductive dance track in the same corridor as 'Zara Zara Touch Me' (RACE), although it does not carry the oomph nor the class of the mentioned track. Aditi Singh Sharma renders the song and Kumaar provides the lyrics.

On the whole, one is a tad disappointed upon hearing the audio of ALONE, which is an offering from the director whose 1920-EVIL RETURNS and RAGINI MMS 2 were very good experience(s), musically! It could have easily been the case of quality over quantity (there are only three original songs), and so one expected more from the hit trio of Mithoon, Jeet and Ankit, who have an enviable track record. Only two songs catch our fancy, 'Awaara' and 'Chaand Aasmano Se Lapata'. However the album may attain popularity and help ALONE open to decent houses when it releases all over on January 16, 2015.
