Expectations may not exactly abound from the audio of Jap Films' DILLIWAALI ZAALIM GIRLFRIEND, but since it boasts of names like Yo Yo, Dr Zeus, Meet Bros Anjjan etc, one does expect that the host of famous and talented music directors should come up with an interesting and entertaining album.

The song launched with a lot of fanfare, 'Birthday Bash', marking the comeback of rap-star Yo Yo Honey Singh is indeed true blue Yo Yo style composition, complete with his popular characteristic rap. Alfaaz who pitches in (as a singer and lyricist both) does a good job.

Dr. Zeus of 'Lovely' (HAPPY NEW YEAR) fame comes up with another winner, the club dance number, 'Tipsy Hogai', almost on the same lines as the above mentioned track. Miss Pooja's cute, digitalized vocals add to the mischief of the naughty number and Rajveer Singh provides apt support.

The Indeep Bakshi composed, penned and sung (with Soni B) number, 'Tere Liye' is a lovely situational separation sad number, the type that one comes across in Bhatt films.

The track composed by Jazzy B, 'Zaalim Dilli' thrives on a superb rhythm and lovely beats and stands true to what the composer had to say about the song. ''It took them six months to make the beat of this song. Then they sent it to Hard Kaur. Then she changed the rap and then even Japinder Kaur (film's director) gave her inputs for the rap. Then I did my vocals again. So when something takes time to make, the result shows. I'm very happy the way the song has turned out,'' said Jazzy. On dot, Jazzy, a chartbuster in the making.

Arijit Singh and Sunidhi Chauhan come together for a lovely duet, 'Janib', composed by Jatinder Shah which brings back old world charm of timeless melody and words which are just right for the romantic interlude.

The female version by Sunidhi makes for a good repeat hear.

Good fusion music and nice rhythm is the highlight of Meet Bros. Anjjan composed and sung 'Meri Marzi, Teri Raza' (meaning my desire, your will). The sad, situational number where the protagonist questions God's will is superbly conveyed through some excellent lyrics.

Milind Gaba's 'Saddi Dilli' is situational and thematic in its nature but is interesting as well and gives a good insight into the true Dilli, as conveyed in films. The rap is Yo Yo style and humorous and brings a smile.

Last but not the least is Jassi Katyal's 'Maa De Dandeya', the situational number which is full of dark sarcasms and brings back memories of PK's theme and may appeal in the context of the movie.

Too many cooks do spoil the broth, but in the case of DILLIWAALI ZAALIM GIRLFRIEND, this is just the opposite. All the composers have done an excellent job and therefore the audio makes for a lovely hear, in fact, it will surely appeal to the Gen X as the music is very contemporary. Our favs are, 'Birthday Bash', 'Tipsy Hogai', 'Janib', 'Zaalim Dilli' and 'Meri Marzi, Teri Raza'. One hopes that the good music translates into the movie (with relatively fresh faces) opening to decent house, when it releases all over on 20th March, 2015.
