One does expect some melodious-cum-chartbusting music from veteran composer Rajesh Roshan, who has, till now delivered some outstanding works for his own home banner Film Kraft, especially those starring his nephew, Hrithik Roshan. Since, director Sanjay Gupta's films too have mostly carried chartbusting music, expectations from KAABIL audio soar even higher.

The title track, 'Kaabil Hoon', does charm with its inherently simple yet catchy rhythm, soft musical arrangements (lovely trumpets and nice back up chorals) where vocals of the lead singers, Jubin Nautiyal and Palak Muchal, stand tall. But its Nasir Faraz's lovely lyrics that are the real highlight of the track.

The sad version is situational and depicts the trauma faced by the male lead whose world comes crashing down after losing his beloved.

The song that has been making waves ever since its teaser featuring Miss Perfect 10, Urvashi Rautela was out. Yes, you guessed it right, its Big B's superhit dance number from YAARANA , Kishore da's Rajesh Roshan classic 'Saara Zameena Haseenon Ka Deewana' (lyricist Anjaan), which has been rearranged and refurbished by Gourav- Roshin with additional lyrics by Kumaar (as is the norm these days). Payal Dev belts out this chartbuster and Raftaar chips in with the usual rap. One wonders whether a male version would have been more appropriate.

Jubin comes back with another soft and slow love ballad, 'Kuch Din', which sounds good to the ears but does not really leave a lasting impression as it has a heard before tune . Maybe the song might take some time to grow as most Rajesh Roshan's songs do.

Bollywood's most loved rockstar, Vishal Dadlani renders the dance number 'Mon Amour', which, as is evident from the title is Latino/ French based. Mon Amour means My Love in French. Naturally keeping in mind Hrithik's amazing dancing talent, the song has been incorporated. The arrangements are classy and the song will surely translate superbly on the big screen.

One of Rajesh Roshan's most popular love song from JULIE, Kishore da's 'Dil Kya Kare' has been given a makeover and adapted to suit the situation . Recreated by Gourav-Roshin with additional lyrics by Kumaar, the song makes for a lovely repeat hear. Jubin does a fine job .

The audio of KAABIL delivers to quite an extent, keeping in mind the thriller genre, where usually background music is the key factor. There is variety in the songs and composer Rajesh Roshan has come up with a mass & class offering, in keeping with the script. Our picks are 'Kaabil Hoon', 'Mon Amour' and 'Dil Kya Kare'. Just like the songs from AGNEEPATH, KAABIL audio too will make more of a mark (a couple have already hit the charts) after the worldwide release of KAABIL on 25th January.
