One goes down the memory lane with a smile on the face while remembering the audio score of JOLLY LLB which carried some really in-sync with the script and humorous, entertaining numbers. And one expects even more from JOLLY LLB 2 as its none other than the Khiladi himself, Akshay Kumar (always associated with super hit compositions), essaying the title role. So here it goes!

Manj Musik and Nilesh Patel (co-composer) join hands for what is being hailed as the ultimate Holi anthem, 'Go Pagal'. Rendered by Raftaar (riding high on the success of 'Dhaakad') and Nindy Kaur, the song does contain that X factor which should help it make to the charts, a groovy rhythm, good fusion of 'desi' and western and nice lyrics. However, it's certainly not in the league of Akshay's evergreen holi hit, 'Do Me A Favour' (WAQT- RACE AGAINST TIME) which is a holi anthem in the real sense, even today.

The petal soft love ballad, 'Bawara Mann' sees Chirantan Bhatt after a hiatus and one expected an extraordinary romantic track from the HAUNTED 3D composer, but alas, it's a routine fare, west and Hindustani fusion. The alaps by Rheek Chakraborty are soothing. Jubin Nautiyal does a fine job with Neeti Mohan chipping in. Junaid Wasi's lyrics depict the strong bond of love between the leads who play husband and wife.

Meet Bros offering 'Jolly Good Fellow' throws light on the street smart / chaalu character of the main lead in a humorous manner with the composers putting in the famous English limerick 'He is a jolly good fellow' and use it to good effect. Meet Bros render the song well but try to sound like Mika. In fact it would have been better if it had been the man himself!

It takes a master like Sukhwinder Singh (with Murtuza Mustafa and Qadir Mustafa) to add substance to the album through 'O Re Rangreza'. A soulful, soothing prayer to the almighty for divine intervention, in a nutshell, a lovely traditional dargah 'qawwali' complete with harmonium, tabla, claps, sitar etc. Lyrics are superb where the almighty is akin to a 'rangrez' (cloth dyer) who paints (read dyes) the world in different hues.

Concluding the album, one must say that the audio of JOLLY LLB 2 is a tad paler than its predecessor and there is not even a single song that lingers in the memory. Moreover if one considers that it's a commercial star like Akshay (whose league se hat ke films too carry super hit music) essaying the lead, expectations surmount. Our picks are 'Go Pagal' and 'O Re Rangreza'. However the audio will surely aid the proceedings of this situational comedy courtroom drama when it releases worldwide in February.
