Sujoy Gosh's TE3N is a mystery/ suspense thriller and one expects situational music in keeping with the taut script. Experienced composer Clinton Crejo and lyricist Amitbah Bhattacharya have been adjoined the task to compose the music.

'Haq Hai' is soft rock based song that should appear as a background score and is totally in sync with the script of the movie. The motivational number encases the spirit of the TE3N, a grandfather's never ending and relentless fight for justice. The musical arrangements and chorus are class. Clinton's rendition not only echoes the pain and pathos but expresses hope and self-belief.

Traditional Durga Pooja celebrations type 'shankh' sounds herald yet another number, 'Rootha Hai' which is in the same mode and spirit as the 'Haq Hai', an inspirational number where the lead pleads to the almighty for mercy and support. Benny Dayal renders the song with feelings (although his vocals are a bit too sweet and soft for this number) along with Divya Kumar and Bianca Gomes (who renders the Bengali part).

The megastar Amitabh Bachchan's soft, underplayed emotive vocals 'Kyun Re' which is almost an unplugged version with just a hint of simple acoustic guitar in the background, can move even the stone heated to tears . The simple tune is haunting, and lyrics depict the feelings of suffering of a grandfather pining for his beloved grand-daughter.

Clinton Crejo reprises 'Kyun Re' and he does well.

Hard hitting, senses jolting, hard rock based, highly racy number, 'Grahan' (Eclipse), is simply class. Amitabh Bhattacharya excels; his lyrics are the USP along with rockstar Vishal Dadlani rockish rendition. The amazing crescendo and guitaring spellbinding.

To conclude, the album of TE3N is quite on the expected lines, but there is not much variety, though it's in keeping with the theme of the movie. The compositions appear to be a part of the narrative quite like Sujoy Ghosh's earlier films numbers and will find acceptance after the release of the film. Our picks- Both versions of 'Kyun Re' and 'Grahan'. The movie releases all over this Friday.
