He came, he kissed and we wondered.. no. no.. confessions of a horse rider yeh sahi hai.. nahi baba.. kuch na kaho is apt.. Presenting a conversation between a cute young couple before, during and after the screening of EK HASEENA THI EK DEEWANA THA.

The morning of this city is blushing with the first kiss of rain. I gear up for the early morning show of Suneel Darshan's touted musical mystery EK HASEENA THI EK DEEWANA THA at a nearby theatre. The guy at the booking window says, 'Sir you will have to wait till we get the numbers to start''. Luckily for me and everyone, a couple of couples arrive and ask for a cozy seat for EK HASEENA THI EK DEEWANA THA. One couple in particular managed to allure me right from the beginning due to their cute innocence and here is their observation of this romantic mystery staring Shiv Darshan, Natasha Fernandez and Upen Patel, which is sometimes musical, sometimes serious, sometimes humorous and sometimes completely bizarre.

Before the start of the film
Girl: Hum yeh movie dekhne aaye kisliye
Boy: Jaaneman yeh love story hai isliye
Girl: Chalo aaye hai toh film bhi dekhte jayeienge
Boy: Pehle meri jan aap muskuraienge
(The girl unleashes the duppatta that was covering her cute little face and smiles)
Movie Begins
The Haseena - Natasha (Natasha Fernandez) a rich bin maa ki beti is about to get married with her fianc? Sunny (Upen Patel) in her ancestors mansion. A song composed by Nadeem erupts and suddenly Natasha slips from a mountain cliff to be saved by Devdhar (Shiv Dharshan).
Girl: Kaun hai yeh ladka.. na jism na josh
Boy: His name is Shiv Darshan, he is the son of the producer and director and this is his re- launch after the debacle of his debut KARLE PYAR KARLE aaj se kuch teen saal pehle..
Girl: What a pity, he has learnt nothing. He never smiles yaar.. what a dukhi aatma (sad soul)..
Boy: Leave it honey. It's just a beginning, things will improve. Now come on give me a kiss
Girl: You just stay away. You have spoiled my mood. Now kiss will be granted only if things improve on the screen, otherwise stay dry and bear this bheja fry.
Boy (hands folded): Oh God pls help me, bring some romance, mystery, please.

The movie continues, Natasha gets fascinated by this poetry-spouting farm boy Devdhar. Secrets buried under the mansion trigger chain of events that turn completely bizarre like that horse ride of Devdhar with Natasha (the most surreal love making/intimate scene in the globe).
Boy: Honey.. see they are in love.. you don't love me even now after watching this passionate scene.
Girl: What is happening.. he offers her a horse ride and she climbs with her skirt mysteriously going off.. And what an amazing horse rider! He is handling the horse and the girl in such a situation so elegantly.. mind blowing I say. I am more annoyed now.. I can't take this.. you stay here for the rest of your life admiring this crap. I am done. Am going.
Boy: ruk ruk ruk, arre baba ruk.. Honey we promised to stay together in thick and thin. Why create a scene for a movie scene. Stay with me, I still believe things will improve and you will kiss me.. stay with me.. for me my love.
Girl gets back to her seat
The movie continues to run through bizarre events and songs shot on the picturesque locations pop up helping things to go further haywire. The movie goes on hammering the test of patience and tolerance quotient of the audience and winds up with the most bizarre end seen in recent times. It has all ? love, treachery, ghost, dost, re birth but the 14 days of grace from the God by the already dead Shiv is something that should be preserved as the most insane example on how a filmmaker can be so out of sync and times.
Boy (with his eyes close in disbelief): Uff kya tha yeh. Devdhar was really an 'aatma'.. God bless the soul of our cinema

Girl suddenly plants a peck on boy's cheeks
Boy: What was that for!!
Girl: This Shiv can laugh on screen. See he is smiling and the movie is over.
Boy: He is now smiling when the movie is over. The joke was on usĀ - the audience.
Girl (Holding the boy in her arms passionately): Jaane do na.. forget this film. Come on lets watch Rishi kapoor's KARZ together. They have borrowed the title from this Subhash Ghai's film and
Rishi Kapoor was damn cute in those days yaar.
Boy: Ek Haseena thi
Girl: Ek Deewana tha
(They both leave the theatre holding each other's hand and I was wondering in which category the movie now stands and in which period was it based)
