Vipul Shah's COMMANDO was a reasonable success, marking the impressive debut of new age action hero, Vidyut Jamwal , although its music by Mannan Shah did not exactly leave an impression. One does expect that the composer will make amends and come up with a better one in the sequel, COMMANDO 2-THE BLACK MONEY TRAIL.

Gourav-Roshin recreate the hugely popular title track from Priyadarshan's BHOOL BHULAIYA (Pritam, Sameer), 'Hare Krishna Hare Ram' and they do a fine job, although one does question the ingenuity of the makers as the chartbusting 'Bhool Bhulaiya' (2007) is still very fresh in the minds of music lovers. Armaan Malik renders the number with zest, well supported by Ritika with Raftaar chipping in with his appropriate rap and Kumaar doing the additional lyrics.

After this, Mannan Shah takes over. Armaan Malik comes back for a nice love ditty, 'Tere Dil Mein' and its fresh tune and lovely arrangements make this one a good hear, although Armaan's diction falters at quite a few places, which is a turn off (Khayal, khuli, kareeb).

'Tere Dil Mein' (Club Mix) is a routine remix with fastened rhythm and added beats and English female chorals.

The 'Bulleya' singer, Amit Mishra charms with another intense performance with 'Seedha Saadha' which is almost in the same corridor as 'Bulleya'. A soft rock, high intensity, full of passion number, having a good repeat value and its tune is quite addictive and rhythmic.
Jubin Nautiyal reprises 'Seedha Saadha' and does a good job, he is more subdued and sings at lower octaves which makes Amit's version clearly the better one.

The title track, 'Commando' is a rock based number composed in retro style and introduces the male lead, shedding light on his character and physical and mental attributes. The tune that Mannan chooses is pedestrian and despite Aditi Singh Sharma vocal histrionics, the song fails to entertain. One expected an adrenalin pumping, racy pulsating number here (as this is the title track!) which should go hand in glove with the mood of the film.

There is the English version of the title track rendered well by Aditi Singh Sharma but the tune itself is so very lame that the song fails.

Summing up, the audio of COMMANDO 2 disappoints, although Mannan Shah's 'Tere Dil Mein' and 'Seedha Saadha', are good and happen to be our picks as well. But since this a brief album with just three original songs it should have been terse as well and should have had few chartbusters, but unfortunately there are none. However Vidyut's electrifying action, brand COMMANDO, and the topical theme of black money should entail a decent opening, when the film releases in first week of March.
