Aftab Shivdasani has come a long way now. After his roller-coaster acting career, the MAST-boy is all set to try his luck as a producer. And now he would be seen after a long time on silver screen, in Sanjay Gupta's ACID FACTORY. ''Well the credit goes to Sanjay...he is the one who trusted me with such a complex character in ACID FACTORY,'' Aftab says.

And was there any specific reason that he stayed off-camera for so long. Aftab quite calmly answers, ''The reason is simple enough, I didn't like the scripts that came to me, and the scripts I was looking for, didn't come to me (smiles).''

Now that he is happy to get his choice of role, Aftab throws some light on his character in the much awaited film ACID FACTORY, ''I play a 'kaminey' (rascal) type character. It's a tough character to play and I am happy that I got a role that really made me grind everyday to get the best out of my performance.''

He recently walked the ramp for ACID FACTORY in Kolkata. This was the first time he did ramp modeling, so what does he think about modeling, ''Never thought about it,'' Aftab at once says, ''But I enjoyed the walk for ACID FACTORY at Tantra. We wanted people to give a 'live' first look at the film. So McDowell's organized this fashion show where Dia (Mirza), Dino (Morea) and I showed people how we are going to look like in the film.''

Aftab is generally known for his 'boy-next-door' roles...He interrupts, ''Yeah, I know. But I don't want to be a choco-boy anymore. I want to portray all possible characters on-screen. The day I can play any character with ease, I will consider myself as an 'actor'. Till then, I am a just a performer.''

It's being said that he is also trying his hand at production. ''It's too early to talk about it. Yes. I am turning producer with Rising Sun Entertainment. I don't want to make any formal announcements till next year,'' Aftab refuses to disclose any details right now.

Bollywood stars are now seen taking part in reality shows. Given a chance, will he try television?
And like his counterparts Aftab is also ready make appearance on (rapidly growing) Television, ''I am open to reality shows. But the project has to be really exciting to convince me.''

Aftab's love life has always remained a much-discussed topic in film glossies. What is his relationship status at the moment?

''I am single, not so sure if really ready to mingle (laughs). Actually, at the moment, I only want to focus on my career. Believe me,'' signs off Aftab.
