Ever since its trailer released, AIRLIFT is being compared with Ben Affleck’s Oscar-winning film, ARGO. However, the leading actors of the film – Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur say that the two films are very different from each other.

“AIRLIFT and ARGO are different and can’t be compared. I read a few comments (online) saying that it’s a copy of ARGO. How can it be? AIRLIFT is based on a real story,” said Akshay.

Nimrat Kaur added, “I know ARGO, and AIRLIFT is not ARGO. Argo is a very small scale operation and it’s very specific. If you have watched ARGO, you would know that there’s no possibility of the two films resembling each other.”

According to Akshay, who will be seen playing the role of a businessman in the film, AIRLIFT won’t have any over the top scenes. “There’s no action in the film. I can’t be fighting Iraqi soldiers. I can’t be picking the grenades thrown by them and throw them back at them.”

Directed by Raja Menon, AIRLIFT is based on the evacuation of Indians during the 1990 Iraq-Kuwait war and is scheduled to release on 22nd January.
