He's now attempting to scale heights in a medium that's virgin territory for him.

Ashutosh Gowariker's AGPPL makes inroads into the genre of television with the production of a fiction show, aptly called  'Everest'

It has collaborated with India's premium mountaineering institute Nehru Institute Of Mountaineering (NIM), Uttarakashi, which attracts mountaineering students from across the globe.

The lead actors of his show will get trained at this mountaineering institute, after which the show is also going to be shot there.

Ashutosh expressed his gratitude towards the Ministry of Defence, Govt. Of Uttarakhand and Col. Ajay Kothiyal, Principal NIM, for extending his support and opening the gates of NIM for him.

Ashutosh states, ''This is my first visit to Uttarakhand. I am amazed to see the picturesque beauty of Uttarkashi. Despite the tragedy that befell this entire region, it's heartening to see the manner in which the people of Uttarkashi have come to terms with it. Life is normal once again. I am happy to be shooting here for the next two months, after which we will move to Nepal.''

Col. Ajay Kothiyal, NIM Principal says,''Gangotri valley, post 2013 disaster, is today considered as a dangerous place, thus badly affecting the economy of the region. Mr Ashutosh Gowariker's plans to shoot for the television show here is not only going to be a major step in changing the image created in the environment, after the tragedy, but will also provide employment opportunity to the people from the area.

'Everest' directed by Glenn and Ankush, has been conceptualized and produced by Ashutosh Gowariker.
