The condition of noted film producer Yash Johar, admitted to hospital here with a chest infection, stabilised Sunday, doctors attending on him said.

Johar was admitted Saturday to the intensive care unit of the Leelavati Hospital with "severe chest infection", doctors said.

"He is out of danger, but will require a few days' rest," the doctors added.

"He had been operated on at the hospital for an enlarged prostate three weeks ago and had recovered completely. The chest infection is a new complaint," doctors said.

Yash Johar's son, film director Karan Johar was at the hospital for most of the day Sunday.

Film star Shah Rukh Khan was among those who visited the hospital to enquire about the elder Johar's condition.
