There are several theories in circulation about the real reason for the postponement of AB TUMHARE..., which is now being rescheduled for a December 10 or December 17 release. One of the reasons being offered is that there are problems with the Delhi-U.P. distributor, who has backed out of the film. The distributors of the film are also anxiously awaiting its new release date. But it has now come to light that the rescheduling of the film has nothing to do with distribution tensions but clearance from the army chief and the defense ministry is still pending.
It may be stated that it is mandatory for films revolving around army personnel to have an official clearance from the Army Chief. Sources reveal that the panel set up by the Army for clearance took objections to certain scenes of Amitabh Bachchan's portrayal in the film. Bachchan incidentally plays a retired army officer in the film. "We need some time to be able to convince the panel about our point of view, which is the reason for the postponement," a source from Anil Sharma's office revealed.
Sharma was last having a meeting with his all-India distributors to discuss the new release date of the film.
