It came as a big surprise to the invitees who attended the ceremony where the French Minister for Foreign Affairs & International Development H.E. Mr. Laurent Fabius honored Shah Rukh Khan by conferring on him his nation’s prestigious honor Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur. The ceremony was held at Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, one of the most important Mumbai landmarks.

While inviting SRK to the stage, the hostess of the evening repeatedly mentioned that he had come to the ceremony after having met the Prime Minister. Earlier, when the other two Khans, Salman and Aamir, met Narendra Modi, it created a lot of media heat and controversy. There has also been a controversy during the last Parliamentary elections about a purportedly fake post of SRK that said he won’t be able to live in India if Modi became the PM. SRK had vehemently denied having ever said anything like that.  In view of that, the announcement that SRK came to the venue after having met the PM, came as a big surprise to the guests.

In fact it was a faux pas committed by the hostess that was corrected after a while. It was not SRK but Mr. Laurent Fabius who came to Mumbai after having met the Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi and the Minister of State I&B and Environment Shri Prakash Javdekar, in Delhi.
