As expected, all the three new releases of the week, GATTU, MERE DOST PICTURE ABHI BAAKI HAI and CHALLO DRIVER have opened with dull to dismal collections. The audience has instead preferred the Hollywood venture, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, the original (English) version of which has opened to a bumper response in Metros and 'A' centers.

Meanwhile after a good opening weekend of 35 crore, last Friday's Homi Adajania directed Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty starrer, COCKTAIL, maintained very well during the weekdays, and ended up netting 55 crore during the opening week.

Although Rohit Shetty's Ajay, Abhishek and Asin starrer, BOL BACHCHAN, took a hit from COCKTAIL (especially at the multiplexes), and fell hard, but thanks to the single screens and the Hindi belt, it managed a 23 crore plus second week, thereby netting nearly 85 crore in two weeks from India. The film is now a clear hit and will add more to its kitty in the coming weeks.
