Ileana D’Cruz, who played the damsel in distress in her last film MAIN TERA HERO opposite Varun Dhawan, seems to be pretty excited about her latest film HAPPY ENDING with Saif Ali Khan. While in all her films be it BARFI!, PHATA POSTER NIKHLA HERO or MAIN TERA HERO, she has been cast opposite younger actors like Ranbir Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor and Varun Dhawan, HAPPY ENDING sees her romance Saif Ali Khan!

Ask her how has been the experience of working with Saif and she says, “It’s strange when people ask me such question. I don’t look at an actor in terms of experience, seniority or something of those sorts. For me it is just an actor. I don’t have a sort of intimidation issues with anyone. I think it is refreshing to work with all. While working with Saif, there was one thing I was looking forward to and that was the kind of humour the role demanded, he is brilliant at it. And it was tricky for him to do this especially after doing two different films (HUMSHAKALS and BULLETT RAJA). He is incredibly hard working. It is difficult to do this deadpan humour. It looks hilarious but tough to do.”

Interestingly, not just Saif but there was even Govinda in the film, who is brilliant with this kind of humour. Quiz Ileana did she feel nervous shooting with two acting geniuses and she admits, “I am always nervous before a film starts. But in HAPPY ENDING, I was nervous every single day. It was a different role for me and Raj & DK are very particular about what they want. They won’t stop until they get something right. But the nervousness came from the fact that I wanted to really stand out. It is such an amazing film.”

Diverting from the topic, we probe the sexy actress what attracted her to do the film?

“When I received a call from Illuminati Films and I was told that it stars Saif, I was like let me sign it right away. But then I did hear the script and it shocked me. It was so good! In fact I wasn’t expecting an outstanding script because Illuminati and Saif put together you automatically assume a well put together story, but this role for me was very good. It was at par with him. It was as sassy as him, as cheeky as him and it was of someone who is more of a guy than girl.”

She explains further, “I didn’t have a single emotional shot in the film. I was very dry and disinterested kind of a role. I don’t believe in ‘Happily Ever After’. I think for me doing a film with Saif would have been great, but for me to do a film like HAPPY ENDING with Saif is just like a perfect combination! So there was no reason to say no to the film.”

Now that she has described her character, ask Ileana how much does she relate to it and she states, 'I used to be like this (my character) at one point. I was commitment phobic. I was a kind of girl who if in relationships, was kind of bored. But I changed after sensibilities came in. So yes there was lot I could relate to.”

HAPPY ENDING, directed by Raj & DK, produced by Illuminati films and Eros International, also stars Saif Ali Khan, Kalki Koechlin, Govinda and releases on November 21, 2014.
