Imtiaz Ali turns a producer with HIGHWAY, starring Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda. The film is made under his banner called Window Seat Films. While he has given wonderful films in the past like SOCHA NA THA, JAB WE MET, LOVE AAJ KAL and ROCKSTAR and emerged as a successful director, it is only with HIGHWAY he donned the hat of producer.

So, when we probed Imtiaz what induced him to produce HIGHWAY, he expressed, ''I felt that I had to produce this film because it needed to be made with care. It cannot be an assembly line kind of a thing...it needed to be more hand-made just like a kitchen workshop situation. So, I thought I should produce it as it needed delicate handling.''

Ask Imtiaz about his experience turning a producer and he says, ''It empowers you but you need to do it responsibly. It's like a medicine which can turn into a poison if you have it too much. It empowers you to make the movies the way you want.''

But he also declares that after HIGHWAY he will not produce any film, probably indicating it to be his first and last venture as a producer. He says ''I am not going to produce another movie. The next that I am doing with Sajid Nadiadwala I will be just directing it.''

Presented by Sajid Nadiadwala, HIGHWAY hits the screens on 21st February 2014.
