That Kay Kay Menon is one of the finest actors of Bollywood is proved with the kind of the films he’s done - ABCD: ANYBODY CAN DANCE, BHEJA FRY series, SANKAT CITY, GULAAL, SHAURYA, CORPORATE and many more. However, ask the no-nonsense actor about doing masala films and he quips, “I like masala chai. I don’t have too much masala also in my food because it causes acidity. Nor do I watch such films as it gives me acidity. Masala to some extent is fine in food, cinema and life but if you’re indulging only in masala, then you are bound to die soon with ulcers. It’s very clear for me.”

“My masala might be different or maybe I come from different brand of masala. My masala might be HONEYMOON TRAVELS, SANKAT CITY, MUMBAI MERI JAAN or might be SARKAR. I have some 10-12 films which I am quite happy about. I have different brand of masala which I should market well. So it’s to do with how you market them. Having said that, I don’t have so much to spend on marketing, as I lack in that area,” he adds.

CHECK OUT: Kay Kay Menon is no less than a 'gunda'

With films like RAJA NATWARLAL, which released lately, HAIDER, BOMBAY VELVET, it seems Kay Kay, who never shied away from doing small budgeted or banner films, is now heading towards commercial ventures after doing some meaningful roles.
“I have done sensible stuff even in these films. It’s just that if sensibility is bane I have nothing to grind. I’d rather be sensible than foolish. If you want me to be foolish you can think of somebody else but not me…I would try and portray as human being and not as cardboard caricature that’s very clear. It doesn’t really matter to me,” concludes the actor, who has been around in the industry for more than a decade.
