Bollywood heartthrob Raveena Tandon married film distributor Anil Thadani at a glittering ceremony in this Rajasthan tourist resort Sunday that was attended by a galaxy of film stars, politicians and sportsmen.

Family sources said among the select 200 guests who attended were Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri, Rani Mukherjee, Govinda and Salman Khan, politician Amar Singh, industrialist Gautam Singhania and cricketer Ravi Shastri.

Raveena's childhood dream of a wedding fit for a princess was fulfilled at the historic Jagmandir, an island palace in the Lake Pichola here.

The wedding procession travelled by flower-bedecked boats to the Jagmandir, where they were received by Raveena's father Ravi Tandon, brother Rajeev Tandon and other family members.

The wedding was solemnised in front of an idol of Lord Ganesha, with the couple exchanging garlands while standing on stools made of silver.

Raveena was wearing her mother's 35-year-old maroon-coloured lehenga or traditional long dress. Thadani was attired in a cream-colour sherwani or long coat.

Udaipur's Maharana Karan Singh began building Jagmandir in the early 1600s. Maharana Jagat Singh (1628-52) completed the palace and named it after himself.

In 1623, Prince Khurram, who later became Emperor Shahjehan had stayed at the Jagmandir for a while and was said to have been inspired by it to build the Taj Mahal in Agra.

Jagmandir is today a heritage hotel, one of the many that dot Rajasthan.
