The makers of RUNNINGSHAADI.COM have decided to drop ‘.com’ from their film’s title post the legal battle with Matrimonial website, which they lost. Producer-director Shoojit Sircar’s Crouching Tiger Motion Pictures Pvt Ltd and Rising Sun Films are producing this film.

The matrimonial website said that the film which is based on marriage of eloped couples will create a bad perception for their firm. The makers of this film agreed to comply with High Court’s instruction and now won’t be using ‘ in their film’s title.

The matrimonial site approached Bombay High Court against the use of their portal’s name in the film and also pressed for damages worth Rs. 50 crores.

The makers of the film released an official statement stating: “To bring to your notice, in a matter contended in the High Court on 10th February, 2017, between V/S - it has been agreed that our film currently titled, will drop the word “” from the title of the film and will also not use the word “” in the film in any manner whatsoever (whether audio, visual or audio-visual) and/or in the promotional materials.”

Despite all this the release date of this Taapsee Pannu and Amit Sadh starrer film hasn’t been pushed and will release as per the scheduled date i.e. on 17th February 2017.
