PREM RATAN DHAN PAYO marked the return of hit director-actor duo Sooraj Barjatya and Salman Khan after 16 long years. And PREM RATAN DHAN PAYO much like Rajshri’s earlier ventures (MAINE PYAR KIYA, HUM APKE HAIN KOUN?, HUM SAATH SAATH HAIN, etc) is also filled with emotions and family values.

Talking about PRDP and its 'family values', Salman said, 'People have become very complicated these days. They have become very reserved when it comes to emotions. They don't know how to react seeing such simplicity on screen. They can't believe if such families exist. They can't believe if a big problem can be solved in such a simple way.'

Now that the film has released, PREM RATAN DHAN PAYO has opened to fabulous numbers and it's believed that it has surpassed BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN's (also a Salman khan film) opening weekend numbers.

On being asked how does it feel to break his own record, Salman said, 'Breaking your own record is better than breaking somebody else's record. It's a great feeling. It shows that you are growing with time.'

He continues, 'Records should break. One day even my record will be broken. I hope and I hope not that my record is broken. ‘I hope not’ bit is selfish and ‘I hope’ bit is better for the industry. I also hope that I break someone else's record.'

It must indeed be a great feeling to break your own record, Salman. Now let's see if SULTAN (Salman's upcoming film) can break PRDP's records.
